2017 - 2019
The KEDA Foundation promoted projects, primarily in Switzerland and the rest of the Alpine region, which served the preservation, further development and marketing of the regional bio and product diversity of small-scale agricultural, mountain and alpine farming and the locally established food processing industry. It promoted training and further education in all aspects of regional cuisine and local agriculture with the aim of disseminating knowledge and thus strengthening the profile of regional production. It was based on the guidelines of the Bio Suisse Bud, on the existing diversity of varieties and animal breeds in agriculture as well as on the existing traditional resources and on the diversity of regional culinary traditions in the Alpine region.
In pursuit of this purpose, the KEDA Foundation, in cooperation with various partners, supported the establishment and operation of a competence centre for regional culinary art in the former Capuchin monastery in Stans, the content of which is oriented along the foundation's purpose.
