Stiftung MINTeducation
2011 - 2015
The foundation was established by the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW), the Platform Mathematics, Astronomy and Physics (MAP), the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) and Prof. Dr. Peter Al. Pscheid. Its purpose was to raise the importance of mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology as educative targets at all levels. It supported relevant activities, in particular the project "Education and promotion of up-and-coming new talent in MINT (Mathematics, Informatics, Sciences, and Engineering)."
The foundation succeeded in establishing a commanding majority for MINT by preparing and submitting a proposal for a National Research Programme (NFP). It also accomplished its goal of fostering cooperation between schools and businesses. Cooperation projects were established at four locations, the results of which will be incorporated into education and teaching at SWiSE (Swiss Science Education), an association comprised of some 30 schools. In achieving the aforementioned, the foundation achieved its goal and was then dissolved. Its funding had been exhausted.
