The Stiftung Zürcher Spendenparlament (Zurich Donors' Parliament Foundation) was established to give greater financial scope to the Zurich Donors' Parliament, whose remit is to promote social and cultural integration and to fight poverty, social isolation and exclusion in the Greater Zurich area. The foundation's Advisory Board was able to furnish additional funding for projects approved by the Donors' Parliament if the resources provided by the latter were not sufficient. The Advisory Board had no influence on the consultation process that decided on project support, nor did it approve or reject projects – thus safeguarding the democratic parliamentary process.
