Fondation des Fondateurs is a member of SwissFoundations, the association of Swiss grant-making foundations and sponsor of the Swiss Foundation Code. FdF is in close contact with the association and its members, and also with the other umbrella foundations operating in Switzerland. FdF has access to first-class information from the fields of philanthropy, foundation law, foundation management and asset management thanks to the close ties that the members of its management and foundation board maintain within the national and international foundation sector.

The Centre for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) at the University of Basel is an important promoter of professionalism and good governance within the Swiss foundation system, and is in close contact with Fondation des Fondateurs.

Gebert Rüf Stiftung and Avina Stiftung, two grant-making foundations well-known in Switzerland for their exemplary grant-making activities, provided seed capital to finance the establishment of Fondation des Fondateurs.

Sponsorship by the Foundation for Founders takes place in close cooperation with SwissFoundations, the association of Swiss grant-making foundations and the competent body behind the Swiss Foundation Code. This acts as a guarantee for efficient fulfilment and reputable partner organisations.

Centre for Philantropy Studies

The Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) at the University of Basel is an interdisciplinary research and education institute committed to the Swiss foundation sector. CEPS was established in 2008 on the initiative of SwissFoundations, the association of Swiss grant-making foundations, and acts as a university think tank investigating multifaceted topics within philanthropy. The centre has an interdisciplinary structure and cooperates with a variety of faculties at the University of Basel, research facilities at other universities and institutions throughout the business community and society as a whole.
